Refreshing Grid Views

Bentley OpenUtilities Designer Server provides two ways of refreshing the data displayed in a grid view: manually as needed and automatically at a specified interval.

Manual Refreshes

The Job Activity Grid and the Server Log Grid can be refreshed on demand using the Refresh Grid command. This command appears on the shortcut menu when you right-click any item listed in the respective grids.

Automatic Refreshes

In addition to initiating on-demand refreshes, you can enable the automatic refresh feature and specify a refresh interval. The automatic refresh feature is available for all three grid views: the Job Activity Grid, the Server Log Grid, and the Job Monitor Grid. You can specify a different set of refresh settings for each grid.

Refresh settings are specified using the Grid Refresh Preferences dialog box. This dialog box opens with the Preferences > Refresh command on the File menu.

If you have disabled the automatic refresh feature for the Job Activity Grid or the Server Log Grid, you can still refresh these grids manually.

To refresh a grid automatically:

  1. From the File menu, point to Preferences and then click Refresh to open the Grid Refresh Preferences dialog box.
  2. Select the Refresh Enabled box for the grid that you want to refresh automatically.
  3. In the Refresh Interval box, type an interval (in minutes) for the automatic refresh operation.
  4. Click Close to save the changes and close the dialog box.
Note: Automatic refreshes are suspended while this dialog box is open.
